thanks to @loswhit people started talking about all things STICKS again...so that prompted us to let you know where we are right now.

some big news coming...so WATCH for it, especially if you are in the Southeast.

don't forget we are all VOLUNTEERS in this thing, so we took some time off lately after the big Southeast regional let down.

but small towns still need the love of Jesus...so we are firing it back up with some potential initiatives we are working on to network small town pastors.

Again, we are so disappointed that we had to cancel THE STICKS CONFERENCE SE REGIONAL EVENT.

Here is some updated news and offers for you from THE STICKS:

1. THE STICKY CHURCH CONFERENCE has offered to transfer your registration to their conference for FREE if you would like to take advantage of this offer. THE STICKY CHURCH principals are one of the best factors for retaining that elusive community-building and retention of guests, members, etc. that we have ever seen. We HIGHLY recommend considering this option as you will learn a ton from Larry Osborn and if church-planting is your game, this conference is being hosted at MOUNTAIN LAKE CHURCH just outside Atlanta, by Shawn Lovejoy, and that dude and the church is simply amazing.

ALSO: You not only get 1 registration, but they are also extending a FREE 2nd registration for you. We were happy to partner with them to offer you this alternative, and I promise you will not be sorry for learning and growing in these principals.

It is a 1 day affair that is scheduled this Monday, May 11th.

2. We will hosting a STICKS ROUNDTABLE for FREE at CROSSPOINT COMMUNITY CHURCH in North Alabama with Pastor Dave Anderson, Charles Hill and others we will shake up in the near future. We were greatly disappointed this event was canceled and have a HUGE HEART for those who are ministering in the STICKS and want to offer this FREE GATHERING that will ROCK YOUR WORLD and give you up close and personal coaching, training, inspiration and networking. And we don't care if there are 3 or 300 who show up...it's on, and it's FREE!

Charles, Dave and the other speakers have extensive experience in small to medium sized towns, small to medium sized and larger churches, multi-site and a variety of other venues and experiences.

IMPORTANT STICKS NEWS...

I can't even begin to describe how disappointed I am to write this blog post. You win some, and you lose some...and that is part of life and leadership!

The Sticks SE had one of the best line-ups I have seen in a long time, especially for a conference of this nature. For some reason that we don’t understand the number of people who registered is very low. Maybe it’s the economy, conference saturation, budget issues or even the swine flu! We just don’t know. God knew though.

The Sticks is not an organization. It is birthed out of our vision to make a big impact in small and medium sized towns. The host church and Charles Hill finance the conference. In order for the host churches and me to cover our expenses, we need reach a certain number registrations. Facilities are nearly $8,000 alone. Then there is the cost of speakers, travel and other items.

Unlike the previous two Sticks events, which met or exceeded our expectations, for the Southeast Regional we fell short of the number of registrations required to cover our costs. We are not in this to make money but it made no sense to have Revolution make a huge expenditure for a non-return in funding and I cannot cover the expenses personally.

With this in mind, after much discussion, we have been forced to cancel the Southeast Regional Sticks event at this time. We believe we did everything possible to promote the event and cut as many costs as possible. In the end, however it was not enough. [all of you who registered should have gotten several e-mails on Wednesday regarding this.]

Like you, we are also kingdom minded and only want the best. Sometimes our best laid out plans however, are not what God has in mind. While we are disappointed and did not want to take this route, we were left without a choice and accept that the Southeast Sticks was not in God’s plan at this time.

We appreciate the hard work our teams have done. We had five churches in five states, dozens of volunteers and some really great leaders and speakers working hard to make this conference happen. I know I speak for all of them when I say again how sorry we are. I hope that you will pray for us as we pray for you. We pray that you have a BIG impact in your town no matter what size it is.

Watch this site as we will be offering THE STICKS box sets of the first 2 amazing gatherings in the net few weeks! We have sets that will be available on DVD from all of the Main Sessions from our Ohio and Arkansas Resgionals.
